The remnants of the London Bridge are a natural arch formation that will mesmerise you. The bridge existed till 1990, when it had two arches that resembled the London Bridge. Now only a single Arch remains. The beautiful natural formation is made by erosion of land. Loch Ard Gorge The Loch Ard Gorge is named after the fateful ship “Loch Ard” that sunk within 15 minutes of running aground the nearby island of Muttonbird in 1878. The gorge was the refuge point of the only two survivors. It is accessible by stairs and houses a small museum about the incident and a cemetery of the victims of the shipwreck.
The 12 Apostles were created by the erosion of the beaches by the salty waters of the sea. The 45 metre high limestone formations have been created by seaside winds over the last 20 million years. This collection of limestone stacks is a popular tourist attraction due to their proximity to each other. You can enjoy a many scenic walks around the coastline to absorb the grandeur of the iconic destination.
Marvel at the enormity of the 70 mtr high vertical cliffs at the seaside, only a kilometre away from the 12 Apostles. Two limestone stacks in the nearby sea are natural formations. Fondly nicknamed Gog and Magog by the locals, they can be reached via 86 steps that were carved by Hugh Gibson.
Great Otway National Park covers rugged coast land, beaches and the mountains of the Otway Ranges. You can enjoy waterfalls inside the Rain Forest, including the cascading Triplet Falls. You will find diverse flora in this picturesque rain forest. Stretch your legs by accessing the forest through the walking trails. If lucky, you can also spot wide variety of birds, or even a Koala bear!
